Upset win triggers table re-shuffle

A re-shuffle is looming among the teams at the top of the Orange Football competition after third-placed Waratahs FC delivered a upset win over competition leaders Barnstoneworth United on Saturday.

A devastating first 25 minutes when Waratahs FC scored four unanswered goals put paid to United chances of a win.

Both sides steadied in the second half of a sometimes fiery match but there were no further goals.

Barnies United were never in the game although coach Chris Jacobs was pleased to see the determined effort that was there from his side.

“There were some positives to take away from the day with Sam Sutton, Ibby Yunusa, Lachie Peet, Tom Radnedge and Alex Elliott continuing to perform at a high standard,” Chris Jacobs said.

“We’ll need to regroup for next week when we take on stablemates Barnies FC who have been in white-hot form recently.”
