Ten goal win boosts FC's confidence for A-grade semis
Barnstoneworth FC are going into Saturday’s Orange A-Grade major semi final with extra confidence after a 10-0 win over club-mates Barnies Saints.
FC captain Brendon Manning doesn’t need any reminder his side is facing a tougher obstacle in the semi against Waratahs FC at their home ground.
Waratahs FC sealed their season minor premiership with a 2-1 win over club-mates Tahs United.
“We know we have a harder test coming up in the major semi but at the same time we’re feeling confident,” Brendon Manning said.
“Coach Rob Dawson was very pleased with our efforts on Saturday. Our training is starting to pay off as we took it to saints banging away 10 goals.
“There were a few stand outs with Lachie McHatton , Ben Giumelli, Josh Summerson and Grant Kosch playing very well, but what’s pleasing is that as a team we couldn’t have done any better. "
The ten goals were spread across the side with Lachie Mchatton, Ben Giumelli, Alex Patterson Jack McGregor, Dylan Halls, and Steve Kerr all getting onto the scoresheet.
Barnies club-mates Dylan Halls and Tyler Mendham backed up after a game in B-grade with Rangers to boost the bench.
Barnies United will also be struggling for numbers when they front up for the minor semi against Cowra.
United got away with a tough, injury-plagued 1-0 win over Ex-Services FC on Saturday to seal their semi spot.
Their opponents in Saturday’s elimination semi, Cowra, beat Millthorpe 3-2.
