Tahs edge Barnies FC in major semi

Waratah FC kept their all-season undefeated record intact as they took the direct route to the Orange A-Grade Football competition grand final after a solid win over Barnstoneworth FC.

The stand-out defensive side of the competition, Tahs FC has only had eleven goals scored against them all season.

Saturday’s 3-0 win over Barnies FC didn’t tarnish that statistic.

Barnies FC captain Brendon Manning was disappointed with the outcome, which came in sharp contrast to his side’s recent form.

“We were gutted with the result ,” Brendon Manning said. “The scale of that scoreline didn’t reflect the toughness of the game.”

“They scored two goals from our sloppy defensive clearances. But we were simply unable to get on the score sheet because we were not good enough in the end.”

“We just have to cop it on the chin and get ready for a blockbuster.”

The defeat sets up a mouth-watering club local derby on Saturday when Barnies FC takes on Barnstoneworth United.
