Rangers too good for CYMS rivals
Saturday's round was the first time 2nd-placed Barnies Rangers had faced CYMS Pink this season in the B-Grade comp, with some history between players who were once team mates.
CYMS came out of the gate fast, applying serious pressure to the Barnies defensive line.
Rangers took a while to find their feet and Pink took advantage, scoring the opening goal.
Two goals from Dylan Halls saw Rangers hit the front soon after but some panic and mis-communication gave CYMS the equaliser just before half time.
Heading into the second half rangers took a relaxed and calm approach, to settle the aerial ping pong that was going on, with Tim and Tori Worboys holding the middle with help from Dylan Halls and Brad Fuda.
Defenders Cody Gardiner and Tyler Mendham controlled the back line, Matt Moore, Stephen Kauffman and new recruit James Garretty, not letting Pinks through, with Luke Bingham cleaned up anything missed.
Rangers applied pressure to the Pinks goalie who made some good saves, but yet again Dylan Halls found the back of the net, notching his 5th hat-trick of the season and after some team banter and a beer on the line for another goal, he answered straight away locking in a 4-2 victory.
