Rangers battle on, to stay in semis contention

With a top of the table clash ahead, Rangers new it would be a tough game, for Sunday's B-Grade clash against Kinross. Short on numbers against a full strength Kinross, the fight was going to be hard.

In the first half both teams tried to find their feet and both had chances on goal, a spot penalty awarded to Kinross would have seen them get ahead, but some brilliant goalkeeping from Luke Bingham kept the score at nil-all til half time.

Rangers were feeling the heat and fatigue, with some having to take a minute to stay on their feet.

With some stellar defending from Cody Gardiner, Tori Worboys, Matt Moore and James Garretty, Rangers kept the Kinross front line on their toes. Working from the wings, Jayden King helped where he could.

With a foul on Fabien Leonard he received a spot and didn't disappoint. Rangers had the lead, and wise words were said to park the bus.

Kinross coming hard and fast wanting to get back into the game, and with 15 to go they did. Fatigue caught up with Rangers, and Kinross hit the lead with only 4 minutes left.

Rangers worked hard to get another one and had plenty of chances, but unfortunately couldn't find the net. The final margin KWS 2: Rangers 1

"I don't think anyone should be apologising, everybody put in a shift today, all it came down to numbers," Ranger midfielder Tyler Mendham said.

Manager Tori Worboys concedes the side has “a tough few weeks ahead to stay in a top three position, which is where we want to be, and I know we can do it."
