Rangers hit back in B-Grade
Barnstoneworth Rangers have come back from defeat last week to notch a confidence-building win on Saturday over Saints Stars as they prepare for the B-Grade semi-finals.
Manager Tori Worboys admits the side was “hungry to redeem ourselves. Having a full squad and subs, lifted our spirits”.
Matt Moore opened the scoring and soon after Fabien Leonard found the back of the net twice in 3 minutes, just before half time.
Having a strong lead heading into the second half, Saints were keen to come back hard and they did scoring 2 goals, before Liam McCormick sealed the deal for Rangers to win 4-2.
“It was a handy win leading up to finals,” Tori Worboys said. “This week’s match against CYMS Green is a grudge match. They've got us twice this season already so we aren't about to give them a third.”
3rd-placed Barnies Beyond Blue kept up their recent form with a strong 3-1 win over Saints Ignite.
