Denley settle early nerves to win

Denley Moor have come from behind to play out a strong win against Blayney in their latest match.

Blayney’s Brad Tims opened the scoring three minutes from the start, but Denley striker Harley Smith was quick to level.

Minutes later Blayney’s William Moresby made the most of a one-on-one duel with keeper Jerome Luke to hit the lead 2-1.

As the half went on Denley settled into their game. Smith found space and lofted the ball over the Blayney keeper’s head. The keeper recovered and chased, but winger Dave Walker was quick to back-up, finding the net to level just before half-time.

Blayney tried a change of keeper, but he had little time to settle.

A cracker from Harley Smith bounced off his hands into the back of the net.

It was Denley forward Richie Shields who danced across the top of the box before sending a low ball behind the keeper to secure the win 4-2.
