Denley comes from behind against tahs in C-Grade
Denley Moor have flagged their potential, going into the semis, fighting back from a 3-0 deficit to finish 3-2 against 2nd-placed Waratahs over 35s.
Playing with better possession, tahs’ forward Greg Pell opened the scoring just before the half-time break, and Matt Duffy made it two ten minutes into the second period.
Tahs defender David Vaughan went for a run up-front, to open up a three-nil lead.
The change came as Denley started to re-discover their passing game.
The first chance game with the awarding of a penalty, but the kicker opted to send the ball straight at the tahs replacement keeper.
Forward Phil Bennett opened the scoring when a twenty metre shot bounded under the keeper.
Striker Harley Smith got on the end of along clearance from the Denley keeper Jerome Luke to lob the ball over defenders and into the net.
With legs tiring, Denley finished better but the tahs defensive line hung- on for the win.
