Barnies Beyond too good for Ex-Services
Beyond Blue bounced back on Saturday from a difficult game the week before, with a comfortable 8-0 win over Ex- services Bobcats. It didn’t take Barneys long to hit the back of the net, with Chris Davis scoring the first goal within ten minutes setting the pace of the game.
Although shortly after, a strike from the Bobcats did make Barneys nervous. Thankfully, Barney’s keeper Aaron Slender performed a brilliant save, getting one hand to the ball to knock it over the crossbar.
Two more goals before half time gave Barney’s a 3-0 lead at the break.
The second half was much the same as the first with Beyond Blue primarily having the attack. A number of off side calls limited the chances for Barneys but they still managed to improve their lead to 8-nil before the final whistle. By the end of the game, Chris Davis had a hat trick, Kaelan McCarthy and Josh Horsley both had two goals, and a single goal was scored by Josh Forrest-White.
Beyond blue were much happier with their performance this week and were rewarded with the leading goal difference at the end of the round, an important attribute with only a few weeks left until finals.
