A-Grade FC steps up in second half

In contrast to the United onslaught, the A-grade round’s other key match was nil-all at half time as 2nd-placed Barnstoneworth   FC took on a Millthorpe Tigers side eager to get into semis contention.

FC had the bulk of possession in the opening half but couldn’t break through the tough Tigers defense.

FC captain Brendon Manning was pleased to see his side lift after the break.

“In the 2nd half we kept putting the pressure on hard and it paid off, with Alex Patterson slotting home a well-placed shot,” Brendon Manning said.

“There was some good team work and great finishing from Nick Moran to grab 2 more. There could have been a few more goals but we were denied by good goal keeping and the post."

“Coach Rob Dawson and I were really pleased on how our team performed to take the game 3-0.

“We had some regular starters missing but we believe we’re getting stronger each game.”
