A strong win for Beyond Blue to finish the regular season

The final round of the B grade competition saw Barnstoneworth Beyond Blue defeat Waratahs Wolfpack 5 goals to nil.

A win by club mates Rangers also gifted Beyond Blue a 2nd place finish and they will face off against Kinross this Saturday for a place in the grand final. Kinross finished the season proper with a nil-all draw against Ex-Services Bengals.

A few injuries forced Beyond Blue to make some changes to their line-up, playing it safe before the finals.

The changes were seamless, Barnies playing some of their finest football.

A particular stand out was Paul Sentas. Paul played flawlessly and with the rest of the defensive line, barely allowed Waratahs to enter their attacking half.

In the first half, Waratahs crowded the midfield, preventing Barnies from playing in their usual style, and keeping both teams scoreless at the break.

It was clear in the discussion at half time that Beyond Blue needed to adapt.

And they acted quickly. Two early goals in the second half allowed the side to gain momentum.

As Waratahs fatigued and Barnstoneworth took control in the midfield, the score blew out further, with Josh Horsley and Chris Davis both scoring doubles, and Aaron Slender putting one away to end the game 5-0.
